The Quick and Easy Guide for the Perfect Wedding Cake

It is understandable that when planning your wedding, there will be a large number of tasks to complete in order to have the perfect day and your wedding cake should be no exception. It clearly will be one of the highlights of the celebration which both yourself and your guests look forward to so it pays to get any ideas you have in mind on paper as soon as possible. Here's a quick guide to help you make those ideas a reality:

1. Have a one to one meeting with the selected bakery. It is your wedding day after all and you do not want to leave anything to chance. Give the designer as much input as you can - perhaps some clips from magazines or websites. Remember, it is your wedding and you want to create something that is not only unique, but memorable as well. It will all help to give the designer a solid foundation to work from.

2. Keep a tight rein on your designer's progress especially in the run up to the big date. The last thing you want is some kind of misunderstanding or confusion that could ruin an occasion that has taken months to plan. Keep all details in writing such as ingredients to be used, decoration and delivery dates. This will save wasted time correcting avoidable mistakes on your requirements.

3. It is useful to have a budget in mind for your cake and commit to sticking to it. Perhaps you can create a simple spreadsheet that details all costs so you will have a clearer understanding of the entire process. Imagine being under budget when you finalize your figures. The money saved can go towards the honeymoon!

4. Be sure to gather any special dietary requests from your guests. Ensure you have accommodated for those who may have allergies to certain foods or ingredients and inform the bakery accordingly.

5. Visit some of the many wedding events held in some of the major cities such as Birmingham. Expert wedding planners usually attend these events amongst other wedding related vendors and they will be able to pass on an enormous of information. So ask lots of questions and take business cards if necessary.
